Very happy with this cook top's performance. I like the look of it. It is hard to keep clean. The black surface shows everything. Still trying to find a better cleaning product that might help with this.

We bought this model based upon reading reviews, today 16 months later it has stop working, not one burner would turn on. We checked the power running to it and found everything operational. Repairman could not figure out what happened and what is wrong. It is past the manufacturer’s warranty. We’re out $1,500! Would not buy GE again.

Replaced a 14 year old GE electric cooktop with this newer model. While the unit itself is quite nice, the packaging was bad … luckily no damage to the unit itself. The supplied adhesive foam strip used to apply along the underside edges of the unit was terrible. It did not stick and was so bent up it would not apply flat - had to go buy some separately. The cooktop works well and looks great.

I love the feature, including the rapid boil option for one of the burners. The large burner in the Center is convenient as well. Gave 4 instead of 5 stars because the controls aren’t well lit.

still learning to love this cooktop

I bought this cooktop to replace my previous one that was a GE Profile brand. I had had the previous one for 8 years and the heating elements kept burning out on it, so I figured that it was time for a change.
The good:
The cooktop looks really nice with the stainless steel edge. The controls are very responsive. Initially I didn't care for the sounds that it made when turning it on or off, but now I actually appreciate them. I love the rapid boil feature on the right burner. It's fantastic. I love the variety of burners and options to make small and large burners.

The not so good:
I am having a difficult time adjusting to the layout of the burners. The largest burner is in the back. this make it difficult to use. It would be a burner that I would normally use frequently, but it is inconvenient. I cook daily and love to cook and feel that placing the burner in the back is a miss-- although most other brands are doing the same... Secondly, although the cooktop cleans off very easily, as my other one did as well, I feel that it isn't as durable. It is already, after a mere 3 weeks starting to show signs of wear. My previous one looked brand new when I replaced it- it was the heating elements that were terrible.

Would I buy it again? I don't know. I probably would because it fits into the granite cutout of my previous model, but if I was changing countertops and had unlimited options for cooktops, I would likely opt for a different one.

I ordered this online. I’ll pick it up at Store. I got it home and it was in good shape. I had to make small cuts to get it to drop in my counter. Power wire/wip was pond as needed. Simple to wire. Unit is great. Timer ding is soft but you can hear it ok. The unit works well. Haven’t cooked on it yet but after cycling all the burner they work like they should.
