LED lights failed

I bought this range hood when I remodeled my kitchen. One month after the one year warranty expired, the LED lights developed a short and would turn on and off randomly. An appliance repair service came to look at it and stated that it needed a new control board to the tune of $365; I only paid a little over $400 for the hood. The reason I purchased this particular hood was for the style as well as for the LED lights which when they work, give excellent lighting on the cook top. The cheaper hood with an incandescent bulb, did not give nearly enough light on the cooking surface. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this hood.

only caveat- be aware that the in-line quiet blower only works if you are venting straight up through an attic-type space, not on the same level as the kitchen.not too loud without it, light-sensor feature turns on a night-light on the hood when it's dark. looks great, works great.
