I have had this a few months now, I would have liked to have had a light in the freezer section along with the built in ice maker..that was optional..and the ice maker is a bit pricey to get. Overall this is getting the job done with keeping my items cold, and the freezer chills up quickly.

We are so sad we can't return this and apply price to a bottom freezer Whirlpool. We bought this six months ago and there isn't even a light in the freezer ??? Who would think you even need to check for that basic ? And the design in freezer is awful. Door shelves hold nothing. It either falls thru bottom or product too wide. I could cry. We always owned bottom Whirlpools. No place in fridge for butter or eggs. Drawers so flimsy. I can't believe this is a whirlpool. We bought it at Loewes and they refused an exchange even tho we were willing to pay to upgrade. Waaaah !

Love it all EXCEPT the freezer door shelve

I do like this frig--it is quiet-unlike the last GE model we bought--however, I have nothing good to say about the freezer door shelves. There is definitely a design flaw--a BIG one--nothing will fit--things are either too big to fit or things slide out the enormous gap. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT??? I can think of nothing that will stay on these shelves without falling out. I will have to buy some stupid container to fill the gap (2 inches)--the "shelves" on the door measure approx 2" each in width but they are curved where they meet the door. What can fit on that??? There should be a retro fit shelf available. Nowhere in the info is this pointed out when looking for frigs. Who designs these things. Please develop a shelf fix for this. We payed $$$ for this model and now I cannot use half the freezer. I do not accept that there is no fix for this because in the comments here you have known about this for some time.

Returned this unit .Dissatisfied with shelf design. Freezer shelves too narrow with no bottom. Smaller item fell through to floor. refrigerator shelves when adjusted to fit larger bottles did not allow items to fit in shelf below. Freezer has no light. The freezer door extends down and out too far so that to see items on top shelf we had to bend down.and subsequently hit our head on the freezer door getting item out..

After purchasing another brand refrigerator brand new in May that was less then serviceable because ice formed on the walls of the freezer I love this one. After many complaints, it was replaced but the same thing happened to the new one. They finally were forced to let me choose another brand. I am now very happy to report that my new Whirlpool is wonderful. I'm sorry that I didn't buy Whirlpool in the first place. If I have one complaint it would be the shelves in the freezer door. It's easy for most things to slip through them but I can deal with that.
