The AiW-ARC is a high-performance, yet compact in-wall speaker utilizing a number of NHT technologies that work together to deliver sound quality well beyond your expectations. Sold as single units rather than speaker pairs, The AiW-ARC is NHT's companion in-wall mount speaker option to the flexible, award-winning Absolute Series speaker collection - Absolute Tower, Absolute On-Wall, Absolute Center and Absolute Zero. They work wonders on their own as well. Weather and moisture resistant materials make the AiW-ARC a candidate for outdoor eves, covered patios, and master bathrooms as well traditional rooms around the house. The AiW-ARC features NHT's new micro-perforated, bezel-less grill that attaches magnetically and reduces the installed footprint by almost 30% over its predecessor, the iW1. The AiW-ARC in-wall speaker technologies include the use of same 1" anodized-aluminum tweeter as NHT's popular Absolute series speakers including the same 5.25" midrange-woofer. This proven 2-way design can be used in either horizontally and vertically orientations and can be ceiling mounted if you prefer. The AiW-ARC features the remarkable new Anti-Resonant Casting or ARC "monocoque" one-piece chassis that provides unprecedented strength and a lifetime of durability while acoustically reducing frame vibrations - "distortions" - to inaudible levels. But wait, there's more. Just before we install the speaker components, a smooth rubberized paint finish process is applied to the chassis that works together with ARC to help damp surface vibrations that can blur the sound. As previously mentioned, the AiW-ARC is a serviceable design and features a very attractive bezel-less "grill only" finish - no more "lipped" frame. Simply said, with over 25 years of acoustic design under our belt, the AiW-ARC is a remarkable performer and value in very compact format. Building a "new" home? Re-modeling and have exposed walls or ceilings joists? Be sure to use the companion AiWB pre-construction bracket accessory - sold separately.
