The Absolute Tower is a sleek and affordable floor-standing speaker solution for high-performance music or home theater systems. The design joins together the well regarded Absolute Zero bookshelf mini-speaker with 2 newly designed 5.25" woofers (in a separate chamber) in a slender column-like enclosure. This design, like all NHT towers provides the beautiful open midrange and excellent soundstaging of a fine bookshelf speaker with bass and dynamics common with a much larger loudspeaker. Like most NHT speaker, the Absolute Tower loudspeaker is an acoustic suspension design - no ports or vents. Acoustic suspension designs utilize nature's perfect spring force, air, to damp and control the speaker cone motion like shocks on a high performance sports car. The result is significantly lower distortion, espically in the critical midrange for a fatigue-free listening even for extended periods at higher volumes. The impulse response is also improved signifigantly which allows micro dynamics - subtle detail to be revealed, making everything sound incredibly real. Acoustic suspension designs also allow for incredible power handling. The Absolute Tower can be powered with as little as 25 watts per channel yet can be used with amplifiers and receivers with plus 150 watt ability without strain.
