An illusion

We got this microwave to replace a previous monogram that stopped working. The microwave looks nice and is quiet but, they clearly cut costs when making it. It is half the weight of our previous microwave, and the door doesn’t open sometimes. This may be a defect with our particular microwave, I’m going to contact GE to see how we can remedy it. I had high expectations for this microwave but we are disappointed. We really wanted to replace the old microwave with a convection /advantium.
I’m not sure why they make it in a profile but not a monogram?

I bought this unit to replace a GE Monogram Microwave that was 7 years old and stopped heating one day. I was told it is not repairable as it would cost more to repair than purchase a new one. I was a bit surprised as the new one was $600 plus a new trim kit as the previous one would not fit?? Anyhow, bought the new unit and had installed last December. In February the button you press to open the door stopped working and the door would not open. Also the microwave would not turn off so repairman had to come wedge it open and pull it out to unplug. The appliance store i purchased it from agreed to replace the microwave with a new unit since it was so new. I had the same model installed and just last week (October) the exact same thing broke. Again had to have repairman out as the unit would not stop running. He wedged open the door and pulled unit out to unplug. I am now working with the appliance store to find another brand of microwave to fit in this space as I DO NOT want to try another GE Monogram. I was surprised by such poor quality as I have a GE Monogram frighted and double oven. Would not recommend this microwave.
