Happy to Finally "Graduate" to This Iconic Mixer

I bought this about 6 weeks ago; always dreamed of having this iconic brand appliance. It is right on time for the holidays, too. I grew up seeing these and now that I have disabled hands I was in the market for a new handheld, but was thinking about how difficult it has become to prep, especially for baking. This answers that need.
I am considering different attachments and hope to add some over time - probably put them on my wish lists for holiday and birthday.
One hindering issue with it is I now live in a tiny space, so I deliberated whether to bring this home. Also, I have it on a freestanding cabinet and it really wobbles the cabinet. I'm a teensy bit disappointed that it isn't more adapted to a minimalist life space by now - considering new technologies and materials. But hopefully it means that it's still a good-old-fashioned long lasting motor.
Also disappointed entirely in the splatter shield that doesn't fit and lock onto the top of the mixer bowl. Kinda worthless, and the plastic material looks like it's going to break so I have to be so delicate with the piece that it's not useful - and difficult to store away, though I usually set it on top of the mixer bowl when not in use.
I'll reserve some judgment for when I add attachments and see if this really is versatile enough to warrant the cost and the real estate it takes up in my kitchen.

For around two years I have been telling my fiancé how badly I wanted a KitchenAid mixer to complete our apartment. I received the product for Christmas and it has been used every chance I get. I received for a gift at Christmas. It mixes very well, but I have had trouble with flour spraying all over even with the dust catcher in place. It is very heavy to move. I find it difficult to turn on and off and adjust speed since the control is behind the device as I use it. Still adjusting to using this mixer. Seems like it would be easy to break the dust cover.

I use 3-5 times a week for baking, and I’ve generally been pleased. But there is an amount of vibration in the machine that doesn’t feel good for the machinery. I’ve read that older kitchen aid models included a spring on the attachment mount to help and that they performed better. Wish you had kept the older design.
