I have many KitchenAid products, and my latest addition is this new 2 slice toaster. I had a great choice of colors, and chose black. The toast is evenly browned every time, and I like the wide slots to accommodate bagels!

burn bread in the shade 1

Its been a year since I have this toaster. I am very disappointed with its so intense power to hit. I always get my breads almost burned in shade 1. So is impossible to use the other shades. I would like to know how i could reduce its power rating.

The problem that I have experienced with this toaster is that it does not toast both sides of the bread evenly. After the toast pops up I have to place the toast back in the toaster and flip it to the opposite side and toast it for another 20 seconds or so. I have tried different kinds of bread from whole wheat, vienna and cinnamon. Also, I have the toaster set on the lowest possible setting otherwise the toast gets too dark.
