This is such a cheap piece of junk. The grates sag when holding a heaving pot. The level of heat is completely ridiculous... a "low" setting is impossible, making cooking things like rice out of the question. The stainless steel surface scratches so easily that after only a few months of use, it looks like it needs to be replaced. Big mistake buying this unit, as it was on sale for $500. I vowed a few years ago that I would never buy another GE product, so I only have my own broken promise to blame. I hereby recommit to it, since the outcome always seems to be the same. Do yourself a favor and look for true quality You won't find it here.

Great stove top replacement

Purchased from and installed by Lowe's. The stove top is working as expected, which is a big improvement from the previous one that was installed by a prior home owner, back in the mid-80's. This replacement stove though, added a couple of inches of the height to the grates from what we had before. Didn't realized it until it got installed. I would note the top is much easier to clean and the gas burner heat easier to control than the older one. Worth the update!
