For extra peace of mind, add a second hot-swappable 750W Redundant Power Supply to your Xserve configuration and connect each to a separate UPS or power circuit. This Power supply will share half of the load of the system during normal operation but can supply the entire system load in the case of a power supply failure. So when two power supplies are installed, one can be removed while the system is operational and replaced.
